We recently bought a Leinen DLZ140 in Germany
The seller told me it was loud in the gearbox So I expected the spindles gearbox
Well it was loud for sure Bur the good news is that it was the variator inside the cabinet that was loud
The ingoing shaft to the high/low gearbox shaft completly busted
The ID of the hole in the variator disk also took some beating Not that much but enough you had to do something about it
We bored out the hole clean and produced a oversize shaft That went pretty smooth Cleaned everything Some new bearings
We then still had a unpleasant sound in it After some fiddling we found out the changegears were too tight
We gave it a good clean and put on a new DRO to make it up and running again
Now it is for sale on the website Nice lathe for sure
