Lift point for K&T 2K verical mill

I may be bringing home a K&T 2K vertical mill in the next couple of weeks. I'll need to pick it off my trailer using an overhead chain hoist, and yes, it will have capacity to lift 6700 lbs. Does anyone have any experience placing the lifting straps from above?

It won’t hurt to grab it by the neck. Run your Y all the way out for better balance

I’ve used a choker strap to lift mine. No problems at all.

Per the CH/CHL installation manual. Book suggests 1-1/2 manila rope but a proper sling will be easier to find today.

That sling hoist is for a horizontal mill. He's asking about a vertical mill. And, yes, choked around the neck will be just fine. Make sure your choker doesn't slide onto anything critical.
