Has the really different spindle nose - so good luck on spindle tooling
The threads are hiding inside the cup shaped big end
In production teens to 1937 when replaced by L type

An advertisement from 1914 (in American Machinist) letting you know you won't be busting any cast iron gears in that area

John,
I am truly mesmerized by the mass of the gears in these massive machines; [ What what those guys thinking?] I have 2 Lodge and Shipley's & 3 late model Leblonds ; and I feel like I'm working on a jeweler's lathe when I open the headstock of those Leblond lathes after I have spent a decade refurbishing several of these 70 and 80 year old beasts!! No doubt they intend for their machines to run at least 200 yrs
