SO I am a Monarch ADDICT and there is a tracer 10ee near me for sale. I was wondering what I would need to replace or take off in order to convert it back into a normal 10ee if that is even possible. From the looks of it, I think it will only take getting a new cross slide and removing all the tracing stuff but I have not seen it in person.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
If it is "near" you should go and see it in person.
Before you go... there is information around on Monarch's various tracers. They were not at the "simple" end of the class.
Without some preparation so you know what to look for, you are likely to miss some of the complexity and side-effects as to how much is involved in converting - or (partially) retaining - those features.
If/as/when a task JUSTIFIED a complex tracer, the odds are it was run hard AT said task, too. Wear may be a more significant issue than average, and it may be concentrated, not evenly distributed.
Worth a recce?
2CW - and a Cazeneuve HBX-360-BC that left the factory in France AS a tracer.
I should live long enough, it may even be again. Just differently. There's "one and a half" used, salvageable, Mimik tracer goods here for adaptation.
Tracers can do straight tapers, too, y'see.
