We have a 1930 Monarch NN lathe with a 48inch diameter chuck. We cut a new seal surface on this off road dump truck axle. Now we are locked in gear. I believe our clutch is the problem. When we got done turning the part we could not move the engage/disengage lever. It appears everytime the large plate came around it forced the clutch in until it bottomed out. I believe the last person to tighten the clutch set the set screw on top of the threads instead of into the slot. I got the adjuster backed all the way out and cleaned up the threads. I can not get the clutch to release. I am looking for any info on how this clutch works before I blindly begin tear down. Thank you for any help.
