All you ever do is offer your advice.
Do you realize how likable people who continually push their advice on people who didn't ask for it are?
Not very likable at all.

Im not here to be liked...im here to share my advice because I have a ton of experience growing from where you are today to where I am today.

This is a real easy solution. I just place you and your cohorts on ignore. problem solved. Ill be sure to drop bags of shit around your shop the next time im flying over the phx area in my plane ;)

Its not about him wanting to live his life with the small mom/pop shop...nothing wrong with that. The issue is:

1) he comes on here to bitch about not finding good employees
2) we find out he pays $12.50 an hour which is 50 cents more than minimum wage for a semi to skilled job
3) we suggest he pay more and he says "not enough money in the jobs to pay more"
4) we suggest he isnt charging enough money and suggest options for higher paying work
5) he doesnt want to do anything different to get higher paying work

so we have come full circle...

He doesnt want to grow his shop, he doesnt want to pay a fair wage, he doesnt want to do actions that can get higher paying work. HE WANTS TO COME HERE AND BITCH ABOUT BEING A TIGHTWAD OSHA LAW BREAKING BOSS.

ROFLMA!!!! Loading parts correctly and hitting the green button I don't think could be considered a semi or skilled job.

It requires enough skill to make sure there's no chips in the jaws, orientation of stock is correct, and the ability to use a torque wrench. Oh and be able to find and press the green button. Anybody who can flip burgers can do that.

All it really requires is the ability to do repetitious work, week in week out, a pulse, and the ability to get to work on time.

I have pallets of scrap that say otherwise.

I don't know your area, but min wage here is $8.25. I'm sure there would be tons of people applying for a "no experience required, willing to train job" here where I live. Hell, I see all the time ads for EXPERIENCED machinst for $12-$15, similar to the ad I posted about 5 ax programming, etc etc for $19++ (two plusses mind you!)...:rolleyes5:

Although I reluctantly agree with you, should not have gotten to "pallets of scrap" in the first place.

Last jackoff we hired scrapped 4 of 15 parts in 2 setups. Was then fired. New guy (from this week) is doing great so far. :)

Not pallets of scrap from 1 job but more pallets of scrap over the lifetime of my career owning a shop. my current machinists and operators are allotted 5 spare pieces of material for setup and most of the time we get all 5 spares turned in for inventory instead of for non conformance (scrap)

Making small parts its not that big of a deal, making bombardier APU brackets that takes a 14" x 7" x 6" piece of 2025 aluminum makes a big deal.

point being that since i stopped hiring low wage employees, scrap has gone WAY down

You have more of everything than anybody else, am I the only one who notices that?

I bet you have more pallets of scrap that anyone else, and your scrap is more impressive than any of my or anybody else's mundane scrap.

I'm sure you could lick your toilet bowl it's so clean.

I bet you pass OSHA inspections with flying colors.

I bet you pass ISO inpsections with zero findings.

I'm sure your shop dogs are intelligent enough to go to Harvard or Stanford.

I bet when Peter North is unavailible, they have you on speed dial.

I bet when ChristianXXX is unavailible, they have you on speed dial.

If I was female I'd want your children.

If I was a truck, I'd want to driven by you, rougher the better.

If I was a Harley I'd want to ridden by you.

I'm neither gay or bi, but if I had to be topped, it would be you, you sexy thing.

Your so perfect.

Some of you idiots can't fucking read..............
Wheelie,
Deep breaths, advice will come in many forms which may or may not fit.
You are getting wound up and defensive. Step back, good to you or not it is just some random advice and run your world as you see it.
I do not know how to run your shop and no others can.
Just do not get wound up in some sort of fight.
Opinions and mileage will vary. Consider the why of the things you do not like. Disagree but consider.
Opposing views are the best thing since sliced bread if we are willing to let them in without hurt.

… did "VW big Nutcup" and his rich daddy move to Arkansas from Arizona?

Haven't heard anything about darin in a while. But, last I did hear he left the state.
Just did a little google-fu, and wasn't able to find any recent info that I had not already seen.
Darin W Neagle. Remember that name! Stay away. Far away.
