I built this many years ago, you only have to lift lathe or whatever 1” to get it on. I put it under headstock and a skate under the tail stock of my Nardini and moved it easily.
I helped a friend move his 24” Summit lathe in a tight space, we put it under headstock and craned the tailstock with a endless sling and forklift, rolled it right into place.
I use mill hold downs to hold it into place.

I think it is a great device. I like it. I would add 2 wheels an screws at 90 degrees on the rear plate. This would allow sideways movement when those wheels were jacked higher than the fixed wheels.......jus' sayin!

That looks like the two-wheeler device I borrowed to move a mill. It was one solid 1/2" piece with bends at both ends for the wheels. No vertical piece.
That thing could spin a mill in a which way with minimum effort. The it's easy to remove.

Pedowitz is a machinery mover (#notsponsored) look ‘em up if you’re not familiar.
That’s a one way roller.. not sure how much it does a few 3/4 round bars wouldn’t…
This is what I made;

They are off of a cart, I bought at an auction. I have several sets of floor jack wheels that I am scrapping out they are slightly smaller that would work good if someone wants to build themselves one.
