I looked at a Gorton Mastermil yesterday and it seemed to be in decent shape. The ways were all in good shape except for the Z(knee) axis which was rusty but not pitted. The machine was on a trailer so I didn't get a chance to run it but the owner said it ran when he pulled it out of his shop. This mill comes with a DRO, vise and full set of collets(I didn't check if they are B&S or for the ER adapter). Is it worth $1900.00 with delivery? If not, what would be a reasonable price?

Cameron,

$1900 is way too high in my opinion. I would at least try to get him to go down to $1200. My last 9J mill sold for $800, and it was in excellent shape with some tooling and a nice vise, but without DRO. The Gorton 9J is the Daddy to the 1-22 Master mill.

The 9-J is the 3400 pound big daddy!

Thanks for the replies Ken and Doozer. I thought the price seemed a little high but wasn't sure because a new Accurite DRO and delivery would easily add over $1k to the price. I suppose if I can't talk him down I'll just keep looking.
