Good morning. I've recently acquired a nice old planer from the early 60's. It's an 18" Rockwell/Delta 22-200. The worm wheel is wore out and I'm having no luck in finding another. Hopefully someone here might know where I might find one. I've called Delta and Rockwell and they both said "Good luck". It's listed here as # 9.

You probably will have to find a stock gear from Boston Gear or other and modify as necessary. Looks like 30 teeth and about 3 inch diameter. So, a 10dp 30t gear is required. Boston G1061ARH would probably be a good starting point if these assumptions are correct. Finding a shop to remove the hub, bore it out, add a key slot is much easier.

Good luck.

The set is often sold on ebay. About $600 for the pair. Consider replacing with a modern three phase gear motor and vfd. Possibly a cogged belt drive.

the ebay gear seems to come from here?
