CTRL+scroll adjusts the size of the screen to whatever you prefer.

I've got a burr under my saddle because I had to remember my login and password before I could post. I'm not a man who relishes being inconvenienced. If it had been more than once, I might have been on a water tower with a deer rifle.
Thanks, that tip made things much easier to read on a smaller monitor.

I was hoping they would fix the search engine. Type in a search request and usually what shows up has nothing close to what you are looking for. Can I turn off the pop out in your face feature that happens as I'm looking around? I liked being able to log off without going to another menu. Looks like too much unrelated wade through this to get to that. If this new format cost a lot PM got jammed. Not seeing any benefits to what was a very easy to navigate forum that made many changes but not very many improvements.

It's not PEOPLE. It is computer programmers/web developers who KNOW they are smarter than the people who are stuck using their beautiful creations. So you should just SHUT UP and learn to appreciate their clearly superior product.

I have a computer monitor in portrait mode and the whitespace on the sides makes the new layout miserable. I just don't understand why people seem to like so much whitespace everywhere these days.

So I log in today and forum titles are again with condensed font and hard to read 🤦‍♂️

You guys need to get your act together. So far its a shit show.

Get someone to help you with actual usability design. If you don't know what you are doing stick with best practices. If you do not know what those are learn!

These guys have been running the forum and its software for a couple of decades now. They know exactly what they're doing. However, they have had to migrate to a completely different forum software with completely different styles and management interface. You aren't paying for this software or support, so don't complain about it.

I tried to put the text size and style and color back to what it used to be
but I can not get settings that are friendly to my eyes. That is my only beef.
When I zoom, text is either too small or too large with big spaces between
the lines. How can I make the text larger without all the extra white space?

You just stole this from what the developers of NX keep telling people about all the wild changes they've been pulling. :poop:

I just want the readability back to what it was. I don't imagine changing the font to what it used to be would be so difficult.

Anyone using Firefox can get a slightly improved experience by using "Responsive Design Mode" (under "More Tools" ) and changing to the "iPad" view. Width and height can be changed to your liking. Band-aid of course but a bit nicer of experience on the PC.

Here is the manual for the software if anyone is interested. It might be useful for answering some questions.

Here it explains what a reaction score is:

"Reactions
Reactions allow users to express the emotion they feel towards a piece of content with a simple click. The most basic reaction is Like, with which everyone who has not been living in a cave for the past decade or so is familiar.

XenForo allows multiple reactions to be defined, such as love, sad and wow, each of which may be defined to be a positive, negative or neutral reaction.

Each reaction type may be assigned a reaction score. For example, Like is given a score of (positive) +1. If ten users 'like' a post, in the absence of any other reactions, its reaction score will be 10. Reactions may also be assigned neutral (+0), negative (-1) or custom scores depending upon their use case."

and what is that "reaction" mess good for?

Irritating the grumpy old guys of course 😁

"What is this reaction score?" was a common question people had a few days ago. I stumbled across it in the manual so I figured I would share the answer.

I do see that the plastic, aluminum, hot rolled, diamond labels are back and Milacron was able to integrate the old smiley face emojis. So changes are happening.

The reaction score was intended to allow automatic "discipline" I think. So for instance, when donie and thermite get their dander up, if they both get large negative reactions from other members, the forum software would be able to automatically rebuke or even temporarily ban.
