Newbie question

I have been running an old fadal for yrs...now just starting to learn on a fanuc.
Can someone explain the machine position, relative position and absolute position.
On the fadal I would just send it home and pick up the fixture offsets from that point...very simple.

Machine is the machine location relative to home, absolute takes into account your WCS and I believe it tool height is a parameter change, relative is kinda like a DRO that you can zero.
