I have a 1997 DMU50v for sale, with millplus v3.20 in Vista, CA (north county San Diego). According to the timer on the back it has 13,392 hours of runtime on it. The power on timer is broken and reads 10,303. It's electronics are tired and it keeps breaking down, and I just don't have the time, resources, patience or expertise to refurbish it.
It stopped operating in late March, throwing an S158 alarm, which has something to do with the high resolution measuring system. Before that, it was giving S153 alarms when the door was closed. Before that the line filter caught on fire. And before that, one of the axis drives stopped working, etc.
Mechanically, it's an excellent machine. It's well built, it has a 24 pocket ATC which is a nice number to have imo, it comes with a wireless renishaw probe, roller bearings. You can get excellent finishes with it, repeatability within .0002" all day. I could pass endmilled holes off as fine bored and within tenths. I really liked the millplus control as well, it was very pleasant to use. I do not actually want to get rid of it, but I know I will never get around to giving it the love it needs, and it kind of breaks my heart. This machine deserves to be worked.
$20,000 OBO.
