I went to pick up an Agathon 175 this afternoon and ran into this:

It works like this: Schaublin 102 - YouTube

But isn't like any Spindlehead in any catalog I have.

There was also this SIP MUL-250 measuring apparatus nearby.

Hope those pictures weren't too big.

JBC- the schaublin headstock is very cool.. Did they have a variety of thread chasers to go with it? ( if I am using the proper word?)

any pics of the agathon 175 or any goodies to go with it?

There where some hobs and chasers, but I didn't take close notice. I think SOP is you make those on a leadscrew equipped lathe. There where two such headstocks, one on an equipped benchtop machine with the required travelling drive belt. Most of my attention, that wasn't distracted by the other goodies, was focused on that belting system.

Just your basic Agathon. I'm now looking for accessories for it. And an English or German manual. The only manual I've found (from the passion usinages site) is the French one for the 175-DIA. My machine is a 175-A.

Pictures later.

I have one of those heads. Why? I have no idea, other than it used to belong to a friend and was free. :)

What accessories are you looking for for the Agathon? I have a chipbreaker grinding attachment and flat table support if you're interested.
