Very nice condition mid 1980's Okuma-Howa Act3 CNC lathe. 2.25" spindle hole. 10" chuck. 20HP AC spindle. Tailstock. Might be a 12' barfeeder available that used to be on this machine, but I didn't take when I got it from a friend. No chip conveyor. I would say it has all the books, but I don't quite think it does...

Batteries went dead in the PLC that controls the turret. They went dead over a short time and are very very dead, like 0 volts. This is probably indicative of something wrong with the PLC beyond just dead batteries. I can't find a thing in the mountain of books with this machine that covers the turret PLC. Maybe the info is in there somewhere? I needed a working lathe ASAP so I bought a different machine.

Nothing wrong otherwise. Nice paint, very tight. Has done plenty of tenths work with no issues.

This is a scenario where the newer Kitagawa chuck is probably worth more than the machine. Weighs about 10K lbs. Worth about a grand in scrap if I spend half a day and $100 in fuel. I can load it on your truck or trailer.

And the tough part- Must be gone by October.

Probably going to keep the chuck and scrap it. If, by some miracle there's somebody that say, maybe has an identical or similar machine and wants another I bet they could get this going with some craftiness. otherwise you could retrofit it, but seriously- Go buy a way newer machine and put it to work VS doing that.

Located 30 miles SW of Portland, OR

If you could actually meet the removal timeline feel free to contact me. Then we can talk about what it's worth to you (probably not much).

EDIT: I did find somebody who offered to help with PLC information from a nearly identical Okuma-Howa. Neither he nor I know how to get the info out of his PLC though. Also, from my experience with 1980's Japanese CNC's and MTB's that used their own PLC's I'd say there's a 95% chance that an Okuma Howa lathe with a 6T, 3T or 10T will all share the same PLC and programming because those Fanucs all worked the same.

Correction- 8" Kitagawa chuck. Also has nice parts catcher.

Price is $1000 loaded on your transportation. Approximately 2 weeks until it will be melted down. Shame for such a nice a machine.
