We need to ship a car from KC Mo. to Camp Lejeune N.C. soon.

We've never done this before, and we're needing advice on what to do, what not to do and who to use for this service.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Last summer I needed to ship a car a few hundred miles. I went on the www looking for car transporters. There was no shortage of them that's for sure. I dug around and found one that looked legit and professional. Mistakenly I filled in the short form with the rough details of what I needed including my email and phone number. Within less then a minute my phone exploded with calls. This non-stop call explosion didn't stop for 2-3 days. And it was at least three weeks before most of it tapered off. Also my email filled up. At some point I finally replied to a couple emails saying dude... this car shipment is ancient history. I still get the occasional call and email to this day. This website that I thought was a single company was really a transport clearing house. I found a local private party off Craigslist that worked out great.

Edit in: I should note that these company calls were from every state in the union, even though my needs were stated as completely in Minnesota.

Anyway... what happened to me may in some ways sound like a good thing, but I found it as way too much of a good thing. One thing for sure is that there is competition. Meaning you have the power to bargain.
