My friends new D6 does that, he has been pulled over by the cops,
said the GPS alarmed CAT and they consider it stolen.

He's been threatened by the police, told if it happens again, there is a large fine.

Farm Machinery stolen by russia and it's allies is shut down remotely by john Deere. So much for the new laws that farmers have to be able to work on their own tractors in the USA.
I have not heard of Tesla doing this yet.

Russian troops in Melitopol plunder $5M farm vehicles from Ukraine -- to find they'''ve been remotely disabled | CNN

So, wait, you are saying it is wrong of JD to shut down their stolen equipment?

Or that laws designed to protect US farmers are supposed to apply in Ukraine?

I am confused

John Deere, or any company is most probably well within their rights to disable stolen equipment. I believe Hass the ability to lock CNC machines when payments are not made on time.

But, there may be other issues to consider exclusive of the event in the Ukraine. Link to discussion by one of the leaders in "right to repair" and by what sounds like a farmer who has lots of knowledge regarding the good and the bad of control of machinery.
