Blimey !!

I beat you to it by a couple of months it seems.....the vast difference in our posts count indicates the wealth of knowledge & experience that you possess compared to my own.
I am sure I speak for all the members in thanking you for your willingness to share your knowledge & long may you continue to do so.

Thanks for ten years of invaluable contributions, John.

And I'm sure we all second your expression of appreciation to Milacron, who has put more time and effort into making PM tick than any of us.

Congrats, John!

To the extent PM is the classical 'stone soup party', you are the guy who brings steak.

Agreed, and I have to say, John, that you've added a great deal of value to this forum, yourself. I've appreciated your thoughtful and detailed posts over the years.

Same here John. It doesn't seem like that long does it? I try to be appreciative but if I ever missed someone....thanks a lot for everything.

Could not have said it better myself :) Happy 10th John

Another thanks to Mr. Oder for sharing your wealth of experience and information.. As well as taking time away from your own projects to help some of us younger rookies. I know I couldn't have properly fixed the single dog clutch on my Reed Prentice without you showing me how to setup and grind it on your surface grinder a few years ago.

Thank you John

John, I would be remiss if I didn't chime in here and say thanks as well. You have helped me out with your advise a few times and I really appreciate that you took the time to do it. Your posts in general have helped me out a few times even when they weren't directed to me. Next time I am in Houston I will see if you will let me buy you lunch.

This site as been a great source of information for me. Thanks Milacron. I have never run a web site, but I have to believe you put a lot of time and effort into this place.

I've had the privilege to be introduced to John back about 41 years ago by my dad. At the time, they both worked together at then, Drilco. This is where I got infected with "Old Iron Disease" at a early age of 16 years old. (Thanks John) Later had the privilege to work for John at Boring Specialties in Houston for about a year learning to be an designer. Ever since then, we've stayed in touch, just visited him a couple weeks ago! I've personally learn a lot over the years from him, especially on old history of machine tools and fixing up old machines! You also got me introduced to this site, too!

Congregations on your ten years here! I thank Milacron for putting up with me, too!

Allow me to join in with the love fest... Thank you John, as well, from me. You are one of the few that I always make the effort to read when I see your posts. Your efforts are appreciated by many and a good example for others, including myself many times... Congrats and thanks.

John, you contribute to the high level of competence of the board to a significant degree.

I remember when I first joined the forum after talking to Barry Weeks about whether or not I should venture into starting a small machine shop. I didn't know an R8 collet from a 50 taper. I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

Happy 10th indeed!

Ken
