Currently looking at options to improve and expand our current parts washing setup, for a few hundred parts a day, into either a recirculating manual rinse system or a tank washing system. Strictly soluble coolant. A few questions about the used water:

How long does the water & detergent last in your tanks/setup before it needs to be changed?

Anyone out there reclaiming / filtering / distilling that rinse water or is there no economy for such a small scale?

What alternatives to rinsing everything down the drain are you using?

If washing is only removing chips and water soluble coolant, the solution lasts a long time.

These days, at least in our state, disposal by putting anything down the drain will get flagged upon inspection. Then, it's up to you and your detergent and coolant suppliers to prove that disposal is safe and approved.
