if ya wanna see some teeter tottering ,check out the Thailand videos of teeter tottering at 3rd floor level ,and driving from one to another ,with a 30 ft drop if anything isnt exact.

Finished up the new "bearings".
Drilling the 7/8" bolt holes on my mill.
I put a 3 hp Baldor inverter duty motor on my BP clone last year, with a Fuji VFD.
Running 12 Hz, about 160 rpm, lots of torque, such a great upgrade.

Your new bearings should work.
I was going to say just use blocks of nylon or acetal 6 inches square and poke a hole for the stub shafts through the middle of them. Bolt them down with four 1 inch bolts. The little amount of friction they have won't be a problem.
