next week l'm powering up a Miller XMT 304 CC/CV to do some GMAW welding. I haven't had it plugged in for about 5-6 years and was thinking I should start it out at 50VAC for 30 min and ease it up to 240, it might not matter in an inverter as not many caps to recondition before the rectifier though?

I powered up a Teco N3 VFD last week after 4 years and it didn't like life. all kinds of weird shit, sounded like it was trying to run on 1 phase, at first it ran ok for 1-2 seconds then over load error coded and shut down, but subsequently just made funny noises and coded. any thoughts on that? its probably not worth serious diagnosing, but it's just so annoying when shit just decides to die on its own... ( not in an enclosure, but I kept it dry and covered)
