I have this collet chuck unit for sale. I've had it for decades now. I got it for a big old Meuser lathe I no longer have. It was said to be NOS when I got it and I have never used it or in face never even put it on the lathe. If it has been used it sure wasn't used much. Most of the collets appear to have never been used as the shipping grease is still on most of them. The collets go from 1/2" to 2 1/2" The one not in the container is 7/8" - 1". NOTE: I can't find the 1" - 1 1/8"! I was sure this was a complete set and maybe I will turn it up. But assume that one collet is missing. They do turn up on eBay.
I don't have to tell you this is a very high quality unit and will make a great addition to your lathe.

It is heavy! As are the collets. If you are near central NJ come pick it up at my house or my work. I would be willing to drive a bit to meet you somewhere, but NOT to Long Island. Sorry nothing against Long Island, I'm just not making the trip through NYC to get there! If it ships I will pack it up well and get a price from Pirate Ship which is the best deal I have found for stuff like this.
Pay by paypal or check. Contact me at locolima AT gmail.com
$2500.00
Thanks for looking! I have more pictures if you want them. LMK.

I think I'm the one view. I'm a hobby guy so for me it's price. As a hobby guy it's about 5X outside of my budget. I can't speak for others though.

I'm not familiar with these so i really can't assess the value of something like this to someone who makes their living running a shop.

In general, I'm of the belief that someone selling their stuff has a right to demand any price they like and the market will tell them if it's priced right or not. I almost never tell anyone they're asking too much for something. I'm only giving this feedback because you asked for thoughts.

Good luck with the sale.

Looking up the price of that one missing EE10 collet, I found a place in England that has a used one and wants 160 pounds plus shipping for it. I see a new EE10 on eBay for $350 plus $15.

There is a used/rusty set of the KC25 D1-8 chuck (no key) and all 16 collets on eBay for $2850 plus freight.

Those chucks and collet sets cost quite a few thousands back around 1990 when they were still in the catalogs. I have a KC25 chuck that I put on an L00 back for my Clausing, along with the collets. They are super accurate and hold parts a lot bigger than my 5C collets.

So yes, I think $2500 is fair and agree that not everyone would pay that. Around 1985, I bought an unused LC25 D1-6 or 8 (lever closer version) chuck for, I think, $700, knowing it was cheap and hoping to use it. It is still sitting on a shelf because my KC25 does the job. I am not sure what I paid for my KC25 and the collets because I built the set over many years.

It may be a fair price, but I think it will take quite some time to sell.

For comparison I bought the same chuck for $125 through a PM advertised sale last year (not as nice, but no slouch either).
I saw a set of the EE collets sell on ebay for about $550.

OK after extensive searching I don't have the missing 1" - 1.125" collet. Life has thrown me a curve ball and I would like to get this sold. I had(have still?) a potential buyers but of all things he needs the missing collet size for a job right now. Figures right? Given that and my other circumstances(prostate cancer diagnosis and a divorce) I will take $2000.00 for it. Thanks!
