Probe Issues, 2008 VF-1

Hi,
We have a new to us 2008 Haas VF-1 (so pre NGC). The machine came with the Renishaw spindle mounted probe for the work coordinates as well as the tool setter probe (the horizontal laser, non-contact type).

Through a lot of googling I have successfully used both of them, although there are still some kinks to work out.

1) Accessing the work coordinate setting cycles through the VQC page works okay, except the tool changes to tool #10 and I’d like to keep the probe in pocket #20 (umbrella style changer if that maters). I can’t seem to find out where to change that.

2) I’ve tried to run multiple work coordinate setting routines through the offsets page without success. I can select the graphics for the cycle I want to run, input the parameters as prompted, but get a “SUB-PROGRAM NOT FOUND” message. I checked and those programs are not on the list.

Thanks in advance,
Tom B.

Did you set the tool in the tool setting page to "Probe"? Maybe pocket ten is set to that and you need to update it to socket 20.

Not sure if I understood correctly, but I was having similar issues and that fixed it for me. (Oddly enough, pocket ten is what I used.)

Cheers.
