Probe Macro Mazak 640m Nexus

I really need some help with this one. I just want to probe an X web ( X stp in Mazak) and X,Y,Z surfaces using G code.

I have zero experience on Mazak, and the guy who did quit, and I'm trying to keep this ship afloat!!

So I tried running the code I saw come up in MDI.

G65 P100009220B5R0.0
When I tried this macro call the machine just tried to feed back to machine Z0.0 at .0001 IPM.

I also tried G code that works on our new Doosan, but Mazak said program not found

When I search for the probe programs the only ones I see are the ones for the tool probe.

How can I find the Renishaw G65 macros for the different probe options??

This is older Mazak Mill Nexus 410a. With 640M controller.

Thanks in advance for any help

Any idea what type of probe you have? That would help steer in the correct direction as far as macro calls, manuals, etc.

Thank you for the reply, it's a Renishaw probe, do you need to know the actual model?? I know it's older, cause it's kinda big, and takes full size AA batteries. Not the half AA

what I am seeing from your previous image is it looks like you only have the macros required for a TS27R tool setter. do you have any other 9000 series macros that I am not seeing?

That's the problem I'm having, I can't find the probe macros. Does Mazak do something different?? The probe will work through a Mazak program, and when you use it manually to pick up a axis, it shows a G65 code in the MDI screen. I will take a picture of what I mean. But that G65 code does not work like it does on a Fanuc control

The Mazak horizontal mills that I worked with had that same control I believe. They just ran the same standard G65 P9810-9814 Renishaw macros that the fanuc machines ran when in an eia program. Unless yours are hidden, you do not seem to have these?

Hmmmmm, I wonder if they might be on a different directory??

Thank you so much for your help though. At least now I know it is supposed to work like I thought. I will look around when I get a chance.

Ok the previous guy was using MMS cycles with the part probe. Those are the built in Mazak cycles, they don't use any renishaw macros. You can find more information about them in the Mazatrol programming manual.

If you want to get Inspection plus macros you can contact Renishaw in Chicago. You may have to purchase them but it won't be super expensive. You can also upgrade that MP12 to a modern OMP60 for about half price with sending the old one back for a core charge.

I'm stuck doing a setup, do you

We have 3 mills, 1 has the MP 12, and the other 2 have OMP 40, but none of them have anything other than the Ts27R macros

I was wrong, one mill has the OMP60 and I found this disk in the manual. Is this the software I need??

I loaded the disc, but it was only the manual on disc, no mention of the software. Thank you guys for all of your help, I owe everyone a beer, or a Doobie or something!!
