A few things to look at.
The trip dogs may be sticking.
They may also be on their way out and causing issues.
There could be coolant "glop" and chips and stuff stuck in there somewhere.

My guess is the trip switches are sticking and may need to be replaced.
When I shut down my older CNCs with trip switches, I bring the axis off of home position by a few inches.

Trip the switch with your fingers.
Can you hear or feel the "click"?
If yes, does it seem "sure" or kind'a wishy worshy?

.800"?
Or maybe .7874"?

Install a new switch, and toss a spare in the cabinet.
