Hi All

Traditionally we have used Excel to manage our CNC scheduling and calculate efficiencies, set up time, total time for job run etc.. I'm getting tired of managing this and am looking for a software that monitors production and scheduling.

Shop OEM in the USA;
4 Vertical CNC machines (2 shifts)
4 Manual Mills
3 Straightening presses (for small Investment Castings)

Sub Assembly department
Assembly department with 7-10 assemblers

Any input or experience in this area is greatly appreciated. Mainly looking to control the CNC area. Anything beyond that would be a bonus.

Thanks
Don

Lots of threads on this already, search Google for "practicalmachinist.com ERP software" [no quotes]. You can sub "system" for software or other relevant keywords in for a bit of variety.

My takeaway is nobody has the perfect solution. Do your search carefully, lest you be out big bucks and time, and still not happy...

Whatever direction you go the only thing you need to know is it is up to YOU to implement and maintain the system.

This can be as much $$$$$(Time=$$$$$) as the software itself. This is the make or break when it comes to ERP/Shop management.

Hi Dan, This is in response to your 7-month-old inquiry. Did you find an appropriate and affordable software tool that meets your scheduling requirements?
