i picked up an old motorbike engine in a little crate this morning.......got the thing for one bid on ebay (99c) ,but the seller insisted on packing it properly at no charge, all I had to pay was the freight ......its a heavy lump too ,marked 54kg on the label......the couriers wouldnt deliver it ,too heavy,I had to pick it up at their shop ......no forklift ,no nuthin......not good for a hernia op six weeks ago.

My father has a JET 4"x6" horizontal bandsaw that he would like to give me, but its located across the country. A quick quote on Fedex/USPS yields a freight price of $300-$400, which I could buy a new grizzly bandsaw for and have shipped. Are there more economical means to ship something freight around ~130 lbs? Can we drop it off and pick it up at the freight terminal to save money?
Fastenal maybe? Drop the saw off at one store and pick it up at another. Still might cost more that that saw is worth, however.

Fastenal has a pretty cost effective store to store shipping service if you have one nearby. Cost around $100 to ship something that size crated up a few years ago

Doh, too slow!
