Removing Chip Conveyor from Okuma lathe with OSP U10L

I just picked up an Okuma ES-L6ii lathe with a chip conveyor but I don't currently have the room in my shop to use the conveyor.

So I intend on removing the conveyor but how do I let the controlled know that it has been removed? I am assuming it will give some alarm if it's not plugged in.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am assuming it will give some alarm if it's not plugged in.

It shouldn't give you an alarm.
Try it.

It won't give an alarm. It's plugged in only for power.

However, there's no chip pan in that lathe. The chip conveyor is what catches the chips.
If you take it out, the chips will go directly into your coolant tank.

I had a removable chip try made for it. So that's not a worry.

I have the ES-L8 w/ OSP-U10L and I just ran it with conveyor unhooked. No alarms.

1702 is generic e-stop alarm. I have a bar loader on mine and the e-stop on that will shut down the machine also.

Did your machine have a bar feeder previously? Maybe the control is still looking for it.

Booze you were spot on.

I was able to get the machine up and running today. The lathe did have a bar feeder but I am not using it.

Once I had the correct wiring diagram I was able to find the two sets of terminals that needed to be jumpered and everything is now working.
