Your supplier must like you a lot more than CITIZEN F16's, because that's not terrible for anything domestic-made on the retail market right now.

Not that good prices exist just about anywhere...

It looks like I need 7 bars to make the 3 washers in 1k, 1k, 1.5k qty's. The numbers dont look too bad on the machining speeds and feeds either. I will finish this quote up soon. It is something I am interested in. As long as you know these arent stamped pricing.

I usually dont get washers due to the major price difference in machine time vs stamping sheet.

That is only 160#, that is over $6 a pound, higher than what I was quoted. Stainless rounds are 12 foot bars.

I'm missing something then- the yard here offers stainless round stock at random 20-24' lengths. Are they an oddball?

Yes thats an oddball for sure. They do have 20-24 footers out there of some materials but most turning stock is 12'. I think he said 7 bars would be 225 lbs @ $6.00/lb. Still way higher than it should be but its better than not being able to get it and not making any money.

Here the only 20-24 footers are 1018 cold and hot rolled and 4140 PH. I think a little over a year ago I was getting
USA sourced 303 for $2.50 a pound at the 100# price. The yards I use do price things off what they paid for it, so sometimes you could get lucky if something was laying around for a while.
