Hello forum
Had to disassemble a "new to me" lathe. Hope my terminology.
Having removed the bed and head stock I'm confronted with an approx 1/16" and disintegrating gasket between the tray and head stock pad (see attachment). I'm wondering how to make the elevation correction between the spindle and tail stock upon re-assembly. All help appreciated.
Thanks

Just make yourself another gasket. That particular gasket keeps oil from the chip tray from dripping onto the floor thru the belt routing hole. If this results in your bed not being level, just shim between the lathe foot and cabinet at the tailstock end. Or, just add adjustable feet to your cabinet (this is what I do). I believe that your cabinet already has threaded holes just for this purpose.

Those cri-cuts are pretty darn cool machines , all the gal's I know with one don't want to get rid of theirs & are not super keen on cutting car parts & the like .
