Software to draw relays, breakers, etc. Replace Visio?

The Visio is from 2000 and still works but requires Microsoft which I broke away from.
I discovered that Libreoffice-draw can read a .vsd file (Visio) and then I can save it in some native format.
But the vast library of objects in Visio will be gone. What can be substituted for a old Visio? This time open source.

I use OpenOffice Draw. I've had to build my own library of components but it's worked well for me creating wiring harness drawings.

Libreoffice is the successor to Openoffice.

These extension files will have to do. Will probably be worth trying on Apache Open Office.
