solidworks question

Hello. I have an assembly model created in SW2014, I want the estimate how much paint I might need; is there an easy way to calculate the surface area? If I hit the evaluate tab, it spits out a number, but I'm pretty sure that is the total SA, of all the components...not just what is visible...any thoughts? Thanks.

You could always export the parts in question as a new file and then open. I'm not a solidworks user so someone probably has a better answer.

In the evaluate tab click on measure and select the surfaces you want to paint. The measure window will give you the surface area of the selected surfaces.
