I have a smaller threading/grooving bar that uses NT1L threading inserts and I was hoping to use this bar to cut some snap ring grooves in some smaller diameter pieces where I will not be able to get a larger grooving bar in.

Does anyone know if they even make a NG1P style insert that I would be able to use? I have asked google and come up short.

If I can't get this insert, what should I use to cut the groove in a part with a .75" ID? Just a regular carbide ground grooving tool?

Don't overlook Thinbit/Kaiser Tool. Sandvik, Circle and Iscar should all have groovers for that. Maybe not exactly .1 wide, but to groove and to finish groove are not always the same, eh?

I will look at those.

I don't think I was very clear in my original post. What I should have said is that I am looking for inserts who's body is .100 wide, and the cutting edge will be thinner. I am actually grooving a .047" groove.

I was trying to reference the "size 1" top notch inserts, which is nominally .100" wide,at least where the top clamp grabs.
