South Bend model B 9" New to Me

Hello gang! I picked up this South Bend Lathe as I have some projects that require turning. I haven't been on a lathe since high school (30ish years ago). Any ways I sure would appreciate some advice from people in the know. There is a number stamped on the tail stock end of the ways - 38503NBR9. Curious on a few things.....
- what year is this thing? can't find a date on it
- what oil is everyone using in all the lube ports?
- I need a live centre, not sure what size? recommendations?

My 9a has an Mt 2 for live center, likely the same as yours.
