I'm quoting some parts that will have tapped holes for a 6-32 heliciol insert (before the insert is installed) that I need to use to fixture on. Does a screw exist that would have the diameter and pitch of the OD of the insert so I can use it to fasten the parts to my fixture? I could make them, but if they exist, why bother. I can't put the inserts in until after plating, so that isn't an option.

Good idea. Not sure how free the insert would then thread into the hole. It's worth a try.
no it's not
I used to make my own special screws. What a pita
here's what I've been doing lately, and it works great. Get some 6-32 timeserts. you need to grind the head off, which is easy to do if you screw it onto a shoulder bolt.
Then, attach it to a 6-32 bolt with some red locktite.

Yes, the standard-issue Timesert inserts fit holes tapped with standard-issue STI taps of the same standard size.

More explicitly, a standard number 6-32 Timesert will fit a hole tapped with a number 6-32 STI tap.
