SPI Elect-Mike a historical digital micrometer

just posting this as a curiosity and a piece of metrology history. this was an early electronic digital micrometer,
from the 1970s I'd guess. it would have been cutting edge when it was new, still seems to be working very well.

I used to use one of those way back. I think it was made by a local company near Rochester NY. Has a glass scale and opto encoder inside. Measures about 1.5 inches if I remember.

Had a bunch (10 or so) of the Moore & Wrights. Frame out front different and flat on the sides.
Our first truly digital mics. So neat at the time.
I do remember a big long argument with dad to buy them.
I think they were like $300 each which was outrageous money then. Somewhere in the attic I have the invoices but that a lot of boxes to dig through.
Mine all went in the dumpster long ago. Value now I'd put at $5.
