Yeah I would like to rebuild it. However, at the moment I need something right now, and I think it would take an awful lot to rebuild this, the one thing too the rolls there's big dents and gouges in them from over the years. I would probably have to take them out and get them returned and with them being 12 ft in length and the top roll being over 12 inch in diameter I can see this just being a big job to rebuild it. And the time involved would be quite a bit I think.

Oh it's awesome! All right, let me tell you you do not want to come in here after tipping a few and even stand by that thing. It's scary. Granted the rolls may not be as bad as I'm describing, but I do think they would need to be returned. I'm going to attach a picture of the motor. It's a 20 horse 94-96 amp I don't rememberPXL_20230420_155557603.jpg

Cool big rolls... sometimes they are just worn out. I agree if you can buying new is nice sometimes.
Rebuilding ground up is a major endeavor.

You can repair, not restore, the rolls in situ, adding weld into grooves and grinding/filing back down. If you just had a few things like that I would go that direction. Old motor, worn bearings, likely bent rolls.... new or less used up sounds legit.

Yeah the outfit that had this machine before us and we've had it now for quite a while, they used to roll plate for trailer roll-off boxes and you can see where they were obviously welding the sheets together and then rolling is what it looks like to me. Granted I do think this machine if rebuilt would be a hell of a awesome machine, but now like anything else, the time, trying to re-engineer, blah blah blah, it's just going to take so much time. This thing also takes up a great deal of real estate and to be honest 90% of the time I'm rolling things two-foot or less in width. If anybody's interested in this machine come on by and take a look at it. Cuz I know I won't get much for it and scrap price even though it's about 30,000 lb. I'm guessing maybe more. I've even thought about cutting it down and making it shorter, but that's probably not going to happen either. Mike
