Ah! Thank you, solidworkscadman. I've got one like that (yours is much cleaner), but the only ID on it is "Germany" cast into the body. The couple of old threads I found here on PM showing similar models didn't have any more info, except to show that some have lathe chuck-style jaws like the one you show, and others have more conventional vise-style jaws.
MBI was just the importer, but at least the time frame is pretty clear from the pre-zipcode address (Bronx 51) and alphabetic exchange telephone number (MA 4-2220).
BTW, MBI imploded rather spectacularly 1961-1964, when they lost the right to distribute the goods of a major Swiss tool company (DIXI, I believe). MBI's owner, Gerhard F. Kullack, absconded to Europe with most of money from MBI assets, and left all sorts of bills unpaid. (See
this marvelous pissing contest in NY appellate court in 1965 between Kullack and one of his former attorneys suing for an unpaid bill. You may want to back up from where the link drops you off.)
