what rod would i use to weld stainless with oxy/act? also what flame shape should i have, very crisp blue tip or a fuzzy tip. i know a fuzzy tip has more carbon but im not sure that would be best for stainless.

thanks

Check with your welding shop.

I bought some stainless rod for use as pins for knife handles & welding stainless. Never did the welding. The box says 308L which I assume is the alloy & there are probably others.

I dont know whats recommended but I have used a good neutral flame when gas welding stainless with no problem. I prefer to weld it with tig dc. Really welds easy once you get the hang of it.
