You can point windows to a directory to look for drivers. You should be able to use your recovery partition and it will find it for you. I've never had to do that personally though.
What about a fresh install? I believe that's when windows won't use any legacy drivers.

If you have issues with that, first uninstall whatever driver it may have found that isn't working.

And if windows won't do it, I believe you can grab the drivers manually

My NVidia driver for my graphics card, even though I have downloaded the Solidworks certified driver now twice and reinstalled, works for a bit then becomes "uncertified" after a few days it seems when opening Solidworks. Not sure why. I keep ignoring it now.

Is there even a difference in performance/stability nowadays?

That's the problem I've seen- Back when I did a fresh windows 10 install on an old notebook, there were no 10 drivers for it but when I did an upgrade from 8 to 10 then it would use the old drivers. If it works on an upgrade, it would be nice if they would do the same thing for a fresh install.

Seems to work fine other then the annoying window that pops up every time I open the program. Also for some reason it keeps making me log in to the 3d experience, all though I have clicked remember password every single time.

SW seems to be good at annoying pop-ups. If you don't use 3d experience much, you can turn off the add-in.
