I picked up a lathe at an auction recently. It is in rough condition and need help identifing it. I have started the strip down and clean up on it already but I have some pictures showing it. The serial number was located between the V and flat and is 1368. This unit is not the same style as south bend but has the triple v and single flat with and most parts match to SB units from early 1910-20.

All those close up pictures tell us VERY little ! Stand back and take afew pictures that show the entire machine front and back. that thing looks like it was living in a swamp for the last 50 years.

I hate to see any old machine go to the scrap iron, but that is going to be a real challenge and then won't be accurate when finished. Give it to your grandson for a project and keep looking.

I appreciate the positive information provided. Can anyone suggest how to add additional pictures to this thread?

Hit the edit post button (lower right) and put up to five photos in each and every new post

Each post has the edit button for about 24 hours, though I am unaware of the exact time length of "editable" window

I also have zero idea of how this feature effects your "phone" if one is being used
