Looking to relocate to NC. I have 12 years experience designing building custom wood working machinery - my passion has always been the cnc machining aspect. I have experience with Haas and Trak toolroom lathes, Trak bedmill and kneemill with Millpwr control.

Fletcher ... they are in Monkville ? Near Statesville, anyway. Over on the western end. They build custom woodworking machinery as well as their own designs. You may or may not like it there but at least it's a start.

Fletcher is in Lexington, a fair ways from Statesville. There's CPM in Mocksville plus APG Metalworks/Gentle Machine & Tool. None of these places were paying well when I moved to the area 10yrs ago but I haven't kept up with them since then. There are a lot of shops between Greensboro and Durham. If you're interested in the W-S area I can give you my employer's contact info. They might hire someone to run one of the Trak knee mills that's setting empty right now.

Have you considered going just a bit south to Mooresville, and "Nascar shops country"?

The Big Boys in motorsports have the latest and greatest CNC machines and software, and I would imagine like everybody else they would love to have actual qualified applicants!

And there are a lot of nice shops in the region supporting the industry, that are desperate for good help, IWT.
