Yuasa Accu-Dex 8" super spacer 550-007 Made in Japan, plus spacer plates + tail stock

Thought this would work on my 6x26 mill, boy was I wrong!

This is a REALLY nice 8" super spacer by Yuasa. Made in Japan with a set tru chuck. #550-007. The tailstock is 553-301. Spacer, chuck and plates alone list for $2k online, so it's a quality bit of kit.

In good working condition. Indexing and chuck locks work well, chuck spins smoothly, chuck jaws screw in an out fine with a couple of catches (probably gunk in the scroll). Tail stock quill is a little stiff with the lock off, so it might need a clean and re-oiling (or it might just be like that). Comes with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, two 12s and a couple of oddballs. There are another 9 plates that are either duplicates or oddballs, which you can have if you can use them if you don't mind paying the extra shipping.

Asking $500 plus actual shipping and the materials to make a crate. My zip is 78254, net weight is 140lb for the stuff in the pics (add another 10lbs maybe for the extra plates). I'd guestimate 15-20lb for the crate.

looks nice, what is the chuck mounting? threaded id presume, do you know the thread size? and is the chuck a Yuasa too?

Like Hartford Super Spacer - of which it is a copy (more or less) - the chuck bolts on to the "face plate" part of the assy - you can see the socket head fasteners out near the OD

I'm traumatised now, had to sit down and have a drink. My delicate eyeballs!

Chuck is through bolted to the turntable and runout is adjusted using 3 cross bolts, set tru style. You can see them just peeking out in a couple of the pics. Loads of old coolant and oil in there, lots of staining but no damage to either the turntable or chuck back mounting surfaces. I tried to get low glancing pics so you can see what I mean, it's hard to photo a smooth surface with camouflage coolant marks! Also took the back off, there was a 5 hole plate in there. Swapped it out with a 2 hole as I couldn't figure out how to get 5 into 24 :)

honestly don't know if the chuck is Yuasa. I would assume so as they seem to sell these spacers as a unit with chuck included, but there's nothing on the chuck other than that D number. All the Yuasa chucks I found online have a badge indent like Bison, but there weren't many to look at. Seeing's though it's a set tru that matches the turntable, it makes sense that it's the original chuck as there isn't an adapter plate I can see to fit it to the turntable spigot.

guess that drink is kicking in :)

I have a 6" and would love to have the 8" as well but shipping cost + 500.00 is not going to get it done.

I can ship the chuck, spacer and tailstock/plates separately in flat rate boxes, which will = at most $60. As for the price, if you really want it make an offer with and without the tailstock and we'll see if we can come to a price we both like.

Would you consider selling the tailstock separate? If so PM me. Thanks Jason.

for sure, let me see what Moonlight says first though.
