I have only operated 1 manual milling machine and it requires that you change the spindle speed while the motor is running. Do all the brands operate like that?

All of the variable speed machines do. Many of the older Bridgeport machines had step pulleys on top. You would stop the motor, move the belt to change the speed and then start the motor again, much like a common drill press.
Hi Lee, I wanted to see if you would do me a favor and send me a couple pictures of the end gears on the Lodge Shipley metal lathe you have. I have one also that I purchased and it was being reconditioned so I purchased it in pieces and I can't find any pictures of the end gears so I can reassemble them so I was hoping that you would send me a couple pictures of the end gears to help me out.. Thank You! DReisinger
Hi Joe I noticed you had some information on the old style Ingersol Rand Model B Compressor I have one from the 60s that lost its oil when it was put on its side so I need to top it up. Do you know what type it takes? I assume the same time as a type 30?
I just purchased a Weiler Matador, thank you for creating and making this manual available for download. I am considering making a Facebook page for Weiler hobby users and am wondering if you would allow me to post the link to this manual on my page.

Hello Rich. I saw in an old thread on manuals for Weiler Matadors that you had scanned copies of the manual and list for extra equipment. Do you still have these scans as PDF's and could you be so kind to send them to my email: [email protected]

Kind regards Jakob from Denmark
Had problem with the alarm from the y-axis 2132 on the Yasnac I80. How to reset the alarm of the absolute encoder. I bought a machine Enshu that I can't start for weeks and I've tried everything, but wit no luck Please help urgently if you have on PDF procedure for that. i would be very grateful. My mail is [email protected]
any luck with your spindle thread question? My Sloane & Chace # 5 has a similar thread but with flat tops, so I have a similar quandary. Tony @ uk lathes likely knows, but understandably he also needs to sell his catalog package For S&L equipment . I'm currently saving up... best of luck with your lathe!
