Elio Lupica takes over as Head of Division of Mikron Switzerland AG, Tool Division

End of the year, Markus Schnyder, Head of Division of the successful Swiss tool specialist, handed over the management of the company to his long-time companion Elio Lupica during a very emotional farewell ceremony. After 24 years at the forefront of Mikron Tool, Markus Schnyder is retiring, but will still be available to the company in a consulting function.

Elio Lupica graduated in business administration from the University of Lugano. He joined Mikron Tool in 2005 as the head of finance and controlling. Thanks to his keen understanding of processes and organizational talent, he took over the management of the Agno, Rottweil and Shanghai sites in 2016. In addition, he was the deputy division head alongside Markus Schnyder for all those years. Together, they have shaped the reality of Mikron Tool to this day.

Founded in 1998, Mikron Tool SA developed under their management into a division of Mikron Switzerland AG with four facilities worldwide. Within 24 years, the company grew from 30 to 245 employees. At the heart of Mikron Tools is the technology and competence center for micro-machining, trimmed for high performance, which continuously provides groundbreaking new developments. In 2022, a new production hall with an area of 1000 m2 was commissioned at the headquarters in Agno to increase the production capacities for the “crazy” Swiss precision tools.

The whole team took part in Markus Schnyder’s farewell celebrations and the handing over of the division management.

In the future, under the leadership of Elio Lupica, the company will continue to expand into the future its market positioning with a strategic vision and an exceptional drive to innovate. To achieve this, Mikron Tool will continue to invest in the latest technologies to constantly optimize its high standards of quality and performance.

In addition, both are convinced that Mikron Tool’s today’s positioning is undoubtingly also based to its employees, actively driving this development forward with a high level of motivation. Thanks to this workforce, the company remains a reliable partner for profitable machining solutions.
