We just picked up a 1950 Ford F1 truck for a long time project.

Project was in planning for many years to locate a 56 or earlier ford truck specifically to install running gear from another vehicle we already had but the project target needed to be cheap...

We prefer to see classics restored to original and not cutie and rat rod modified but locating something cheap means usually condition such full restoration not feasible so patching and modifying are fair game.

455.00 was fair...

It was missing the motor and a few other things and came complete with much rust and missing areas of body for no extra charge.

Plan is to install non - traditional engine and other things but we are now in information gathering stage.

We assume there must be a similar to here forum or group for such things.

Does anyone here know of such a forum or other sources of information?

A Google search will reveal a number of forums covering that era.

Back in 1974 my first vehicle was a 1950 F1 pickup.
A very bad deal at $50.00 Fenders rusted off, and flapping in the breeze. six different colors of paint.
I found a 383 Chrysler, a Torqueflight and shift kit, Dana 60 rear end and hid it in there.
Nobody suspected a thing.

Ford trucks are my fav all time finally we have got a Ford towing truck which we are using for NYC Roadside Assistance Services.
