Need a 48 tooth spur gear (Part Number PT612K48FH4) for my 16" SB lathe. Does anyone have one for sale or better yet have the dimensions (OD and DP) so that I can make one? This gear is needed to thread coarse threads. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

you should be able to work out OD and DP from the 24t (?) stud gear that's on there. DP = (no. teeth + 2)/ OD. So for my SB9, 48t stud gear is 2.775", so DP = (48+2)/ 2.775 = 18.

Once you've figured out DP, then OD = (no. teeth + 2)/ DP. So for a 24t gear for my lathe, that would be (24+2)/18 = 1.444".

The other critical dims are width of gear, bore diameter and key way width. You might get lucky and find a close enough equivalent from Boston Gear or ebay - say one that needs boring out (or sleeving) to fit.

Well no idea where it came from, but I have a spare. Looks to be in reasonable shape. I don't need a spare for this gear...........

PM me and lets see if we can work something out.
