- I have a Shigiya that I bought new 20 years ago that has been great. Out of the ones I have listed, Kellenburger or Studer would be my first choice, but I don't know what kind of shape they would be in with your budget.

Size, for doing what, size and tolerance would talk but this price tag says so much more.
New makes no sense so used is the guess and if you are buying used grinders in this world... pick and pray.
OD universal one thing, add decent ID...... that a new animal needed.
For new I would expect to spend 100K and way up for any respectable size.
What do you need to do with it and why buying it?

More modern machines have bump and tarry..can be a good feature.
Condition is king in grinders. Grinding is tough with a good machine, and a bugger with a poor one.

Hey Bob,
A maximum diameter capacity of 12-14", and definitely a ID spindle, not very long 24" working length is all I need. I need to hold +/-.0001 on diameter.

This looks decent but has a swing around ID. I like a drop down because less set-up time.
Also think this machine may not have bump and tarry, agree one can bump and tarry by hand..
Most good grinders have a pick cross feed of .0001 or less.
