Hi all,
I picked up a wheel dresser recently, which appears to be (quite nicely) shop made. Does anyone know if it's patterned after a commercial unit? I'd like to find out more about its use. Specifically:
- what is the mount point on the top for - a dial indicator? How would that be used?
- what is the dowel pin just in front of the diamond point for?
- what is the purpose of the sliding dowel pin on the main body? It looks like it could go in any of the three holes. Some type of sine bar setup?
There are detent/keyways which allow the diamond to slide in a straight line, or it can be rotated around the axis of the shaft.
Thanks in advance!
