Hello, I have purchased a Used Cicinnati Universal Grinder.
I have a couple questions on the Hydraulic fluid I am seeing a tank on the back side of the machine and on the table on the right side there is a Brass cap stamped oil on it. Is both them locations where I would fill it? The Machine is a 1957 Modle made in the Netherlands is all I can find out about this Machine. Also where would be a place to find a manual for this .

I have tried to add pictures of this Machine any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Scott

If you are talking about the separate external tank in the first photo when you say the tank on the back side of the machine, that's the coolant tank. Hydraulic oil will go into the machine itself - the fill location may or may not be the brass lid in the other photo - can't say for sure as I'm not familiar with that exact machine.

hello, It is not the first picture it is the second one for sure I just took pictures of the whole thing so someone might recognise it. It is the part under the return pipe for the coolant.

It is the second picture, the tank is in the casting under the return coolant pipe

If the area you're talking about connects to the hydraulic pump, then you should be just fine filling it there. Look to see where the pipes go. You can probably similarly check where the oil from the brass lid area goes... It may be a fill point for the hydraulic system or it may be only for way lubrication.

I have the same machine, The brass cap is for hydraulic fluid
the machine holds 15 gallons. The hydraulic fluid is all so lubes the ways. The back tank holds coolant.

Manual says use hydraulic oil viscosity 155-165 ssu at 100deg.f
