I am not sure which stone to use for grinding engine valve seats. I have a Walter Krupp PEG 10 valve seat grinder. It is a very nice grinder, but I need to buy some new stones. They offer both corundum and silicon carbide. What stone should be used for what valve seat? I have gotten excellent results with both, but I have no idea what should be used where. Some help would be appreciated.

If the seat a stellite inserts, SG would be the choice. That is if your cutting many a day. standard stones will cut stellite seats, just need to dress more often.

If this is occasional use the standard stones.
